Drawn Together Naked
Welcome to the webpage for the life drawing event put on by TNT. My name is John, I am a freelance artist and graphic designer and I will be leading the class. This will be a monthly event and will focus on drawing the male nude form. If you like to draw or want to learn or are just looking for a fun social event then this is for you. No experience or special ability is required- just the desire to practice drawing in a comfortable, clothing-free environment. The event will take place at one of our members homes - $5 for members and $8 for non-members. If you do plan on attending please let me know since we only have a limited amount of room.
Update May 12
Thanks to everyone that participated in April's figure drawing night. I hope you all had as good a time as I had sketching and drawing. It would be great to see you all again for the May meeting. Please let me know ahead of time if you are planning to attend as space is limited. I am working on an online gallery for the group that will feature some of the drawings we have done. If you want to contribute to the gallery please send your artwork to jvgiannone@gmail.com.
What to Bring
Some kind of sketchpad with a hard cardboard backing is ideal. I prefer to use something with a ring binding so I can open up the page completely and draw comfortably. I find the optimal size page is 11" x 14" but you can choose to work larger or smaller. If you want to use loose paper you will require some hard backing and a bulldog clip to hold the paper steady.
You will need something to draw with. The most popular choice is graphite pencils. A variety of softness is recommended. I find the 2B pencils to be the most versatile. You may also choose to draw with charcoal, conte, felt-tip markers, coloured pencils or pastels. An eraser and a pencil sharpener will also be adventageous.
And of course DON'T FORGET TO BRING A TOWEL!
